New-look SARIG raises the bar to unlock South Australia’s resource wealth
South Australia's world-leading digital platform, SARIG (South Australian Resources Information Gateway), has been expanded to deliver a breadth of information in a modern, user-friendly format.
SARIG’s new-look, new-feel and expanded knowledge base is aimed at attracting the world’s best explorers, oil and gas companies and miners to South Australia. All the rich content previously appreciated in SARIG is still available, but is now organised and presented in a modern format based on user-experience feedback, in-house research and testing.
Whether you’re an explorer looking for key geoscience information, tenement manager seeking streamlined eBusiness opportunities, potential investor wanting mining project information, or landowner wanting to see who is working in your neighbourhood, the new SARIG makes relevant information easier to target and more readily available. You can also customise and share information in social media.
For the first time SARIG showcases the breadth of South Australia’s key commodities. Investors and explorers alike can access the commodity dashboard which seamlessly generates an interactive map highlighting the commodity of interest. Additional dashboards give investors the ability to drill into industry indicators – be it overall statewide production value and volume, expenditure on exploration, exports, size of reserves and resources – then progress to open file information on major mines and major projects. Community benefits – jobs and royalties – are also a new feature.
A ‘New releases’ section keeps you up to date with the latest geoscientific developments and to share worldwide with peers.
Information is live and interactive, providing the latest reported sector metrics and geological mapping and exploration data straight from the field.
Enhancing user-experience has been the primary focus of the new SARIG. The information panel is now organised around logical starting topics and themes, providing faster access to information with a simple tap or keyboard click (rather than searching through unnecessary information). Operating speed has increased and there is a new information sharing functionality across social media platforms.
The world-class platform has been internationally acknowledged, attaining top 10% rankings in the Fraser Institute’s international annual survey of mining companies for over a decade. The 2016 survey ranked South Australia’s Geological Databases 6th in the world. In 2013 SARIG was awarded the Australian Government Excellence in eGovernment award in the Geospatial category.
