Additional information:

The area subject to the ML application was part of the original Dry Creek Saltfield operations (formerly a portion of ML 391) until the compulsory acquisition of the land by the Commissioner of Highways, Department for Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) in 2016. The land was acquired for the purpose of constructing the Northern Connector.

This proposal seeks to re-establish a mining lease over the portion of the land that is not required for the Northern Connector. The proposed ML will reconnect the existing salt crystallising pans with the rest of the saltfield, restoring the integrity of mineral tenements over the Dry Creek Saltfield and enabling the recommencement of salt production.
